Coach Pre-Fall 2016 Collection

Other Brands

As soon as Stuart Vevers became Coach’s new creative director less than two years ago, everybody knew the American accessories brand was welcoming one promising talent into its family. After two successful experiences at Loewe and Mulberry, Verves landed at Coach, unveiling his very first Coach pre-fall collection just a few hours ago.

Coach Pre-Fall 2016 Collection

For the Coach pre-fall 2016 line-up, Vevers mixed traditional American outwear pieces with a cozy style that features a strong fitness concept and warmness. Of course, the line-up also features a handbag collection, with the season’s It model being The Rouge Bag. Roomy and soft, The Rouge bag is a three-compartment satchel with a strap that could be used both as a handbag and a shoulder bag. As for the shoes, Coach’s shoeline includes the brand’s iconic thick-soled clogs with turn-lock hardware, which also denotes Vevers’ clear strategy to keep Coach’s customers familiar with the brand’s signature designs.

“Consistency is a strategy. Your customers need to know what to expect from you,” Vevers told WWD regarding Coach’s policy. And it’s a policy that, combined with a strong collection made of wearable and versatile pieces, many labels are sharing this pre-fall season, creating pieces of clothing that navigate through different territories, both literally and virtually. The Coach pre-fall 2016 collection consolidates what ready-to-wear means for Coach, unveiling a handful of outfits that combine luxury detailing with sporty-chic items.

The undisputed key pieces of the collection are the many jackets and coats with fur appliqués and patchwork fabrics that could make anyone happy to transit from summer to fall. From shearling to varsity jackets, from waist- to hip-length options with yoke and breast pockets, the line-up has it all, mixing refined leather with sheer and sleek fabrics.

These fabrics have been also used to adorn the pencil skirts, short shorts and long slim-fitted trousers, which perfectly get along with the collection’s American college theme. The latter is responsible not only for the varsity jackets but also for the sweaters and preppy polo shirts, shifting the line-up to its second theme, treating us to an uber-feminine amalgam of delicate pieces, such as trumpet asymmetrical skirts, t-shirt mini dresses and leather miniskirts, thus reminding us that Verves is one big fan of romanticism, too. Moreover, if one particularly wants to find something that can be layered and played with, Coach’s preppy pieces and college-themed items are just ideal options to consider, at any time and for any occasion.

An unconventional camouflage print made of clouds reveals a totally different side of the collection, the contrasting themes of which delve deeper into the Native American’s culture. Bandanas, camel-hued appliqués, fringes, Sioux-inspired motifs as well as Seminole-inspired patchworks (and the list goes on) have been used to create some of the collection’s most distinctive pieces, in terms of which Vevers dared the most.

10 Things To Buy For Your Man

Other Brands

What do you buy for the man who has everything? Anything, of course. Because by the time you’ve actually decided on that perfect gift, Christmas will be long over and it will be time to welcome 2016. So instead of doing all that (and wasting that perfect opportunity to score maximum brownie points with the man in your life), just pick from this 10-item gift guide I’ve assembled that’s perfect for most any man, especially me. So if anyone out there is also looking to buy me something this X’mas, just look up. Or read on.

You want something else, more options to choose from, especially when it comes to bags.

Let’s start with backpacks, which is apparently the in-thing now. Coach (check out their Rucksack that’s priced at just SGD1190) and Saint Laurent has decent ones for men, as does Louis Vuitton, and if there’s one I have to put money on, it would be theChristopher PM in Monogram Macassar Canvas.

Another brand I’m very big on would be Loewe; check out both the Yago Backpack, which is not really a backpack but more a sling bag (or that’s how I use it anyway) and the new Puzzle Crossbody (yes, there’s a new and improved version for the boys in stores now), so go have a look.

You want something supple and roomy? Check out Celine’s Oversized Twisted Cabas. And trust me when I say this, I think the boys will definitely pull this one off much better (sorry ladies!). Anything Goyard is safe, and the Saint Louis GM might be the answer. Not as common on men here as compared to the lads I’ve seen toting it in Hong Kong or Tokyo, they also come in enough colours to please most anyone.

Ok, I’ve digressed enough, back to the post at hand. Everything shown here is either available in Singapore (see prices in SGD) or via Mr Porter online. And if anyone else has any X’mas gift related queries for men, please leave a comment and I’ll reply as best I can. #happyshopping

The Ultimate Global Price Guide: The Chanel Classic Flap Bag

Other Brands

Although plenty of information factors into the purchase of any particular bag, there’s one fact that likely holds more sway than others for almost all shoppers: price. In our Ultimate Bag Guides, we give you a look at how popular bag designs are priced by size, but that information was always limited to the American market and US dollars–until now. We’re in the midst of building an easier way for consumers to compare prices in different markets around the world, but we wanted to go ahead and get the ball rolling with a price guide for one of the most iconic bags in the world: the Chanel Classic Flap Bag.

If you’re looking for information on dimensions, size names, leathers or hardware, the Classic Flap’s Ultimate Bag Guide is the place to look; as a supplement to that, we’ve created an international price guide for eight prominent global fashion markets, which you can find below. Because Chanel Classic Flap Bag prices can be hard to find, we’ve done our best to find the most accurate pricing information for each size, in each market. If you have a more up-to-date price for one of the sizes listed, please let us know.

All prices listed below are for the Classic Flap in its three most common materials: lambskin, caviar or patent leather. Prices for each country are listed in local currency. Happy shopping.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Luna Studded Leather Shoulder Bag: That’s My Jam

Other Brands

Marc by Marc Jacobs Luna Studded Leather Shoulder Bag

Flower crown? Check. Fringed and embellished suede vest? Check. Something crocheted, cropped, or both? Check. So what’s missing? With Coachella in full swing and her style more spirited than ever, the festival girl needs a chic bag to polish up her faux-boho look. Enter the Marc by Marc Jacobs Luna studded shoulder bag.

With a cute and curvy crossbody-to-clutch design, a smattering of monochrome studs, and a wickedly oversized zipper-pull (on the very convenient front-flap pocket), it offers a classic shape with playful details to spare. It strikes the right balance between unfettered and refined, one that’s perfectly suited for getting wild in the grass. Cream leather is a color you won’t regret – unless, that is, you set your new off-white bag down and it gets trampled by other desert revelers – while sunny yellow will keep you feeling perky long after your favorite act has played their last song.
